Make legal aid accessible to asylum seekers!

The Vermont Asylum Assistance Project (VAAP) seeks to provide access to justice for asylum-seekers in Vermont by offering pro bono legal services and promoting the rights of the State’s immigrant communities.

VAAP aims to:

  • provide asylum-seekers in Vermont with access to legal knowledge and services;

  • educate and serve as a resource to attorneys who provide pro bono asylum legal services (support for asylum and ancillary work authorization applications)

  • serve as a liaison between the State’s community support organizations for asylum seekers and pro bono attorneys; and

  • advocate for State policies that promote the rights of asylum-seekers.

One of the biggest barriers to being granted asylum is having legal representation and advice. We are building a network to ensure as many asylum seekers in Vermont are granted safety.

Join us in making this possible by giving generously today!

The full amount of your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law through our fiscal sponsor, the Community Asylum Seekers Porject, Inc. a 501(c)3 non-profit established in Vermont in 2016. (Tax ID: 81-3418323).
